Call for Students and Lecturers from the PAC Community
23–26 October 2025 – Budapest
We warmly invite students and teachers from the PAC (Performing Arts in Contexts) network to join an exciting international program in Budapest that brings together artistic practice and social reflection. Through the lens of applied theatre, we’ll explore themes such as history, politics, family memory – and the present moment while Hungary is remembering the 1956 revolution and preparing for important elections in the following year.
Who can participate?
Students or lecturers from any PAC network institution engaged in applied theatre (including theatre in education, community theatre, drama pedagogy, and socially engaged performance) who are eager to co-create, collaborate, and learn alongside peers from Hungary and Mozarteum University Salzburg.
Organizers:
Örkény Theatre / InSite Drama
and the
Applied Theatre Program at Mozarteum Salzburg
Location:
Budapest, Örkény Theatre and other venues
Dates: Online Kick-off: mid-October 2025 In-person program: from 2 PM on October 23 to 1 PM on October 26, 2025
Why join?
Be part of a special, international collaboration within the PAC community • Engage with real-world social issues through artistic expression • Develop your applied theatre practice and critical awareness • Meet inspiring people and explore new creative processes
Application:
We are offering five places to the PAC network, if you want to participate please email to contact@pac-now.online with a short CV and sharing why they are interested in this program and applied theatre.
Application deadline: September, 30th 2025
The four-day program is based on active, in-person participation. The project is entirely self-funded, without external grants, so any guests will also need to self-finance their travel and stay in Budapest. The participation in the program of course is free to PAC people!
Best regards,
